Chief Executive Officer
Steve Huckaby was most recently Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and a co-founder of Meritage Midstream, formed in 2009. Steve has more than 38 years of experience in the midstream business. Prior to co-founding and leading Meritage, he served as President of Arista Midstream Services. Over his career, Steve has served in leadership positions at firms including Momentum Energy Group, Kinder Morgan, Bear Paw Energy, Snyder Oil Company, Vessels Oil and Gas, and Oxy Cities Service NGL. Steve earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Oklahoma State University. He serves on the strategic advisory board to the Dean of the College of Engineering at OSU.
Chief Operating Officer
Tim Pimmel has more than 30 years of midstream experience. Prior to coming to Humble Midstream, Tim served as the chief commercial officer and founding partner for Aleph Midstream, one of the first private midstream companies working in Argentina’s Vaca Muerta shale play. Prior to Aleph, Tim held various engineering and commercial positions at Meritage Midstream, Meritage Midstream II and Meritage Midstream III. He also worked in engineering and operations for PRB Energy, Bear Paw Energy and Kinder Morgan, starting as a field engineer. Tim graduated in 1990 from the University of Missouri – Rolla with a degree in electrical engineering.
Chief Financial Officer
Ed Guay has 30 years of experience in energy finance and strategy. For the past four years, he founded and was managing member of Anattah Advising, LLC, an advisory and principal investment firm focused primarily in the energy sector. Prior to that, Ed served as CEO of BOE Midstream, LLC, a private midstream company that owns and operates crude oil terminal and pipeline assets in the Bakken. He was CFO of Saddle Butte Pipeline, LLC, a private crude oil and gas gathering company, which was acquired by Targa Resource Partners LP. Prior to 2012, he spent 22 years in investment banking, primarily advising midstream and other energy companies. This included five years as head of midstream investment banking for Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co., LLC; eight years with Goldman, Sachs & Co.; five years with Salomon Smith Barney; and three years with Wertheim Schroder & Co. He serves as an independent director and member of the audit committee and nominating and governance committee for Magellan Midstream Partners, LP. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry and mathematical economic analysis from Rice University.
Chief Commercial Officer
Walt Hagstrom has nearly 20 years of experience in energy. Prior to joining Humble Midstream, Walt served as CEO of HD Energy Holdings, which was focused on developing hydrogen production assets in California. During the same period, Walt led commercial activities and was an investor in Gulf Coast Midstream Partners, a company developing salt cavern storage in South Texas. Prior to that, Walt co-founded and served as Chief Commercial Officer of Pacific Traverse Energy. Before he focused his efforts on midstream start-ups, Walt spent more than a decade in commodities trading and tanker capacity brokerage for Shell, Marubeni, Maersk and Clarksons. Walt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in communications and business from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Geoff Lau is responsible for strategy within and across commercial, operations, and finance. Prior to joining Humble Midstream, Geoff served in multiple positions for Occidental Petroleum (via acquisition of Anadarko Petroleum and Western Midstream), where he played an integral role in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, carve-outs, commercial evaluations, and strategic planning for both midstream and upstream segments of the company. Before joining the team at Anadarko and Western, he started his career at Marathon Oil and ConocoPhillips within their facilities engineering, commercial development, and energy trading groups. Geoff received a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business.
Manager, Business Development
Tyler Huckaby is responsible for business development functions, developing administrative platforms, diligence and administration of land, right-of-way and contracts. Before joining Humble Midstream, Tyler spent eight years at privately held Anschutz Exploration Corporation, acquiring acreage, negotiating lease agreements, operating agreements and performing other A&D functions for the company’s Powder River Basin unit. He is a Registered Landman and an active member of the American Association of Professional Landman. Tyler graduated from the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Science in business administration and a certificate in petroleum land management.
